Requirements of the State

The State of North Carolina requires that the couple obtain an Application for Marriage License. Without the license in hand on the day of the wedding, the ceremony can not be performed. The application may be obtained from any North Carolina County from the local Register of Deeds office and must be obtained within sixty days of the wedding date.
