Decorations The Basilica of St. Lawrence is registered as a National Historic Site. As such we have strict policies regarding decorations in the church
The usage of tacks, nails, tape, etc., to secure flowers, palms, or other decorations to church walls, furniture or fixtures is strictly prohibited.
The use of plastic clips made especially for pew bows is strongly recommended.
Rice, flower petals, bird seed, bubbles, release of birds or balloons, etc. are not permitted in the Basilica or outside on the grounds.
The use of an Aisle Runner is not permitted in the Basilica.
Flowers The Altar Society places two Flower Arrangements on the main altar each week which may be used for your wedding. However, if you choose to use a florist, two arrangements must remain on the altar in lieu of the flowers the Altar Society would have provided.
Lilies are not permitted in the Basilica due to allergy concerns.
