The Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters and the parish of St. Lawrence have set up a distribution center with supplies.
What: Water, food, baby needs, toiletries, etc.
When:Dear Faithful Parishioners of St. Lawrence,
Praised be Jesus Christ! Now and Forever! Amen.
I continue to pray for your spiritual and physical wellbeing. Please be sure to pray for each other for strength, faithfulness and the virtue of Hope in these difficult days. We all need to stay in support of each other and our neighbors as we walk together to care for and rebuild each other’s lives. God will provide.
Be careful to conserve gasoline and travel only when really needed. Bishop Martin has dispensed you from the Sunday Mass obligation. If you have internet, there are many places to watch the Holy Mass.
I will celebrate Sunday Mass here at St. Lawrence:
Saturday. October 5,
5:00PM Holy Mass
Sunday, October 6,
9:00 AM Holy Mass
12:00 Noon Holy Mass
4:00 PM Mass in Spanish
I will also be in the Church for Confessions on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 8:30 – 9:30 am as usual.
We are blessed that:
Catholic Charities is setting up locations for needed water, food, and supplies as available for distribution in a few locations in our area. I will let you know when they are completed.
On Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 the appliance company LG will have a trailer in our upper parking lot with a few washers and dryers for people to do their laundry on a first come, first serve basis. Then they will move to another location in Asheville.
The Knights of Columbus are working on sending a truck to St. Lawrence with supplies to be distributed possibly by Saturday and Sunday. I will let you know.
To help each other through the opportunity of praising God and serving each other in these difficult times:
Make a daily Spiritual Communion.
Read the daily Mass readings of the Liturgy.
Pray daily for each other and all those affected. It will be a strong bond and great comfort.
Pray these verses from the Book of Proverbs:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
Contact as many of your fellow parishioners, as you are able, to let them know you are spiritually with them.
Please keep all our parishioners, their families and are neighbors in your good prayers. Thank you for all you do for our Lord and His parish. Asking our Lord to bless you and our Lady to keep you in her tender care, I am,
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Monsignor Arnsparger
